Excerpted from January 2011 Railway Age: "Rolling Stock Procurement Pre Tender Market Consultation The State Government of Guanajuato, Mexico (GTO) is seeking market interest in supply of passenger rolling stock for the Tren Express de Guanajuato (TEG) project, a planned 150 km new passenger railway in the state of Guanajuato, Mexico. This passenger railway is among the strategic projects of the Mexican Federal Rail Authority. The project is expected to require a fleet of approximately 100 diesel/self-powered passenger vehicles capable of operation at up to 160 km/h. A supplier Consultation will be held in Chicago between 15th and 17th February 2011. Interested parties should request a pre-registration form by sending an e-mail to: teg@sdgworld.net Closing date for registration is 31st January 2011."
