HERE 360 Blog, 5/25:

HERE Maps gets Amtrak timetables and more worldwide transit directions

We’ve been busy at HERE since our last transit update, and over the past couple of months we’ve been working on adding transit details for an extensive list of cities, towns and areas from around the world.

In particular, we’ve added transit details for America’s Amtrak rail system, which provides medium and long-distance rail service across mainland America. Now you can plan a journey from, say, Brooklyn to Georgetown in Washington and you’ll get directions for the NYC Subway, for the Acela Express and the Washington Metro, all with only one app.

Continue here.

Poor example.  Washington Metro doesn't serve Georgetown.   Next?

Poor example.  Washington Metro doesn't serve Georgetown.   Next?

Metrobus serves Georgetown!  Are buses not part of our total transit system?  They are certainly part of WMATA "Metro" system.

WMATA trip planner offers 3 itineraries for the trip:

1.  DC Circulator (non-WMATA service)

2.  Red Line / D2 Bus

3.  80 Bus

True but not Metro Rail. Maybe Georgetown will qualify as an all rail destination if & when the DC Streetcar is extended west from Union Station.
