The two year delay is probably a better schedule. It'll give Mayor Dave Bing a chance to strengthen the city's economic development program.

The two year delay is probably a better schedule. It'll give Mayor Dave Bing a chance to strengthen the city's economic development program. I guess a 2 year delay would be a good idea, maybe there will not be the controversial financial emergency law passed in Lansing hanging over the city's head. Also, I was wondering, how hard would it be for a steel mill to re-tool to produce a rail? I mean, are there any others besides the one in Pueblo that produces steel rails? I was thinking of that, because there is a steel mill in the Detroit area, Severstal North America's, Severstal Dearborn works at the Rouge Complex. |

The Arcelor Mittal plant in Steelton, PA—right next door to Harrisburg—is doing a booming business producing rail. When I drive by the plant, I often see flatcars loaded with "freshly minted" rail in the plant's yard ready for delivery. Sloan |
