TASI/ACI has begun operations for CTrail Hartford Line, a new intercity rail service between New Haven, Conn. And Springfield, Mass.

“TASI/ACI is proud to provide day-to-day oversight and administration of Connecticut’s newest intercity rail service solution,” said James F. O’Leary, president of ACI. “We look forward to offering safe and reliable daily transit for residents throughout Connecticut and Western Massachusetts while supporting broader regional economic development opportunity.”

CTrail Hartford Line service features nine stops between New Haven and Springfield, including eight in Connecticut — New Haven Union Station, New Haven State Street Station, Wallingford, Meriden, Berlin, Hartford Union Station, Windsor, and Windsor Locks — and Springfield Union Station.

“More than 20,000 passengers rode CTrail Hartford Line train service on the opening weekend,” according to C. Scott Perry, President of TASI. “We will continue to grow ridership in partnership with CDTOT.”

The CTrail Hartford Line connects to a number of other rail services, including Metro-North, Shoreline East, and Amtrak including Amtrak’s Acela high-speed rail services. The service allows passengers to connect to New York and Boston or locations in between. The CTrail Hartford Line also will offer bus connections to the Bradley Airport Flyer and to CTfastrak.

TASI/ACI, which entered into a five-year contract with CTDOT to operate the CTrail Hartford Line, as well as nearly a year-long mobilization period to prepare launch of the service, are responsible for train operations, station and parking facility maintenance, and customer service.
