Charlotte, NC Observer, 2/17/17:

New plan would add rail to airport, Lake Norman, Matthews – at once

Charlotte transit officials are considering an ambitious plan to extend light rail to the airport, Matthews and Iredell County – and virtually all at once.

That plan, which could cost as much as $6 billion, includes a new light rail corridor through northern towns, abandoning a long-planned “Red Line” commuter rail along existing tracks.

Lake Norman’s phantom train teases believers

Forged in the imagination and powered by pixie dust, the Red Line glides reliably, as it has for two decades, on ribbons of steel from uptown Charlotte to the suburban hamlets of Lake Norman.

After two decades of talk, CATS moving forward with train to airport

Atlanta and Washington, D.C. have one. So does Miami, Boston and Philadelphia.

They all have train service to their airport, giving business and leisure travelers an easy way to make their flight from downtown.

As Charlotte looks to expand its transit system in the next decade, the Charlotte Area Transit System has made a airport rail line a priority.

Update

Well......  Miami requires a People Mover to get between trains (TriRail, Metrorail Orange Line, and maybe someday soon Amtrak) and the airport terminals.  Boston's airline terminals are served by no trains --- either you take the Silver Lie from downtown Boston or you take a bus from a Blue Line station outside the airport.  I would include neither in that list.
