Milwaukee Railroad Shops to seek national historic designation

 

SIOUX CITY | Officials are seeking national historical designation for the Milwaukee Railroad Shops Historic District in Sioux City.

 

The Siouxland Historical Railroad Association applied to be on the National Register of Historic Places, a federal program administered by the National Park Service that recognizes buildings, structures and sites with historical impact.

No stops ahead for the railroad museum

 

SIOUX CITY | Expanding its operating hours, the Sioux City Railroad Museum has been open six days a week, excluding major holidays, since 2012, and lately it has incurred some big new developments.

Railroad museum nearing national recognition

 

Sitting in one of the large buildings at the Sioux City Railroad Museum is an item on the National Historic Register.

A big item: a steam engine.
