Well no large groups because nothing is scheduled. Steve and I took Metro Blue Line back to King Street Alexandria where we had boarded Metro last night, and then Amtrak #174 from ALX to WAS, completing the trip the others to Washington finished last night on #66.... and of course thus getting another AGR segment. We made sure our conductor scanned our tickets during the short trip, so the intent for riding was maintained. #174 came into ALX early, and had to wait until departure time to leave. It had a scheduled intermediate stop at L'Enfant Plaza. We were held there a couple of minutes because our slot at Union Station was taken by another train. We still arrived 9 minutes early into WAS. Currently in the Club Acela with Penny. We'll head downstairs for lunch along with anyone else who wishes to join us, around 11:30 AM.

Getting from Alexandria to Rosslyn was an adventure. In Alexandria I decided to get on a yellow line train to get out of the heat. I got off at crystal city because it would be cooler waiting for a blue line train below ground. The next two trains were both yellow. I gave up on the blue line and took the 2nd yellow to L'enfant plaza. As I descended to the orange and blue line platform A blue line to Franconia Springfield was in the station. I boarded and got a seat. Over all trip took about 30 minutes longer than normal.
