“1970—1980 Railroads in Lake Superior Area” will be the subject of a multi-media program by Rob Kitchen presented to Harrisburg Chapter National Railway Historical Society February 10 at Hoss’s Restaurant, 743 Wertzville Rd., Enola, PA.  Business meeting and speaker begin at 7 pm, with a meal available as early as 5 pm. Dinner and meeting are open to the public.

Kitchen formerly worked for CSX Transportation (C&O) in West Virginia and the Rock Island Railroad in the Chicago, IL area and at Silvis, IL, where he assisted in the final shutdown.

Harrisburg Chapter, one of over 149 chapters of the National Railway Historical Society, is a nonprofit educational organization dedicated to studying railroad history and preserving significant local railroad artifacts. Major projects include: maintaining Pennsylvania’s official electric locomotive (GG-1 # 4859), preserving and operating Harris Tower, and showcasing operating model train layouts to community groups.
