Here we go again..... Looks like a slightly different location, but the same old story.  From Amtrak website, posted 1/5/15, 2:56 PM PST:

January 5, 2015
11:30 a.m. PT

 

BNSF Railway Co. has imposed a moratorium on passenger trains between Seattle and Bellingham, Wash., due to a landslide. The tracks, which are used by Amtrak Cascades and Empire Builder trains, are expected to reopen on Wednesday, January 7.

 

Alternate transportation with charted buses is being provided and will cover all missed stops. Normal train operations continue south of Seattle.

 

Amtrak regrets any inconvenience. This information is correct as of the above time and date. Information is subject to change as conditions warrant.

 

Passengers with travel plans can confirm their train's status, change their plans or review refund information using a range of tools – including http://Amtrak.com/ , smartphone apps or by calling 800-USA-RAIL. Amtrak Resumes Service between Seattle and Bellingham, Wash.

BNSF Railway re-opens tracks to Amtrak Cascades and Empire Builder trains after landslide cleared

 

January 7, 2015

The BNSF Railway has cleared its tracks of a landslide and re-opened the route between Seattle and Bellingham, Wash., to passenger train service. Amtrak Cascades and Empire Builder trains have now resumed normal operations through the area.

Sounder "Rider Alert" 1:19 pm PST:

 

Sounder Northline Canceled 2/6/15 due to Mudslide

 

Northline Sounder service between Seattle and Everett is canceled this evening 2/6/15 due to a mudslide. With the weather forecast for more rain there will be an evaluation on Sunday to determine if service will resume on Monday.  Please monitor www.soundtransit.org/alerts for updates to Sounder Northline prior to your commute.

 

Sound Transit will provide special buses with direct service to Northline Sounder stations. Riders may also take regularly scheduled bus service.

 

Evening bus service on 2/6/15

All special direct service buses will arrive at 5th Ave S. and Weller St. where pre-boarding will be allowed. The buses will arrive at 4th Ave S. and S. Jackson St. for regular boarding and scheduled departure.

Seattle - Edmonds: Special buses to Edmonds Station will depart from 4th Ave S. and S. Jackson at 4:05 pm, 4:33 pm 5:05 pm and 5:35 pm. Riders may also board regularly scheduled Community Transit Route 416 at 5th & James at 3:57 pm, 4:27 pm, 4:58 pm, 5:31 pm and 5:57 pm

Seattle - Mukilteo: Special buses to Mukilteo Station will depart from 4th Ave S. and S. Jackson at 4:05 pm, 5:05 pm and 5:35 pm. Riders may also board regularly scheduled Community Transit Route 417 at 4th & Jackson at 3:09 pm, 3:59 pm, 4:22 pm, 4:50 pm, 5:30 pm and 6:00 pm

Seattle - Everett: Special buses to Everett Station will depart from 4th Ave S. and S. Jackson at 4:05 pm, 4:33 pm, 5:05 pm and 5:35 pm. Riders may also board regularly scheduled ST Express Route 510 at 4th &  Jackson departing approximately every 10 minutes.

Edmonds - Mukilteo:

  • Take Community Transit 116 to Lynnwood Transit Center
  • Transfer to Community Transit 113

Edmonds - Everett:

  • Take Community Transit 116 to Ash Way P&R
  • Transfer to ST Express 532

Mukilteo - Everett: Take Everett Transit 18 at Hwy 525 & Front St

 

*Southline Sounder service between Seattle and Lakewood is not impacted and will operate as scheduled.

Mudslide hits railroad tracks between Seattle, Everett

 

EVERETT, Wash. (AP) - A mudslide Friday morning covered the Burlington Northern Santa Fe railroad tracks just south of Everett.

 

Spokesman Gus Melonas (mel-OWN'-us) says the tracks have been cleared for freight trains Friday afternoon but Amtrak and Sound Transit passenger trains have to wait 48 hours - until late Sunday morning - to resume. Rail passengers are bused between Seattle and Everett during the safety moratorium.

Amtrak service alert:

 

Service between Seattle - Everett, Wash., and Kelso, Wash., - Portland, Ore., affected

 

February 7, 2015
10:00 a.m. PST

 

Due to an additional landslide, BNSF Railway Co. has extended the moratorium on passenger trains between Seattle and Everett, Wash. The tracks, which are used by Amtrak Cascades and Empire Builder trains, are expected to reopen on Monday, February 9. Alternate transportation with chartered buses is being provided and will service all missed stops.

 

Service between Kelso, Wash., and Portland, Ore., is also affected by a separate landslide. The BNSF Railway Co. tracks, which are used by Amtrak Cascades and Coast Starlight trains, are expected to reopen on Monday, February 9. Amtrak is attempting to secure alternate transportation with chartered buses. Passengers with reservations for travel through this area will be contacted regarding their travel.

Rider Alert: Sounder Northline Canceled 2/9/15 due to a Mudslide



Northline Sounder service between Everett and Seattle is canceled tomorrow, 2/9/15 due to a mudslide that occurred on Saturday evening. With the weather forecast for more rain there will be an evaluation on Monday to determine if service will resume on Tuesday. Please monitor www.SoundTransit.org/alerts for updates to Sounder Northline service prior to your commute.
 
Sound Transit will provide special buses with direct service to Northline Sounder stations. Riders may also take regularly scheduled bus service. Evening bus service will be provided Monday in the early afternoon.

Morning bus service on 2/9/15
 
Everett-Seattle: Special buses will depart Everett Station from the Greyhound platform at 5:45 am, 6:15 am, 6:45 am, and 7:15 am. Riders may also board regularly scheduled ST Express Route 510 departing approximately every 10 minutes
 
Mukilteo-Seattle: A special bus will depart Mukilteo Station from the train platform driveway roundabout at 6:26 am and 7:26 am. Riders may also board regularly scheduled Community Transit Route 417 at the Ferry Terminal departing at 5:49 am, 6:21 am, 6:51 am, 7:21 am, and 7:53 am
 
Edmonds-Seattle: A special bus will depart Edmonds Station in the Amtrak parking lot at 6:41 am and 7:41 am. Riders may also board regularly scheduled Community Transit Route 416 at Edmonds Station departing at 5:45 am, 6:15 am, 6:34 am, 6:55 am, and 7:42 am
 
Everett-Mukilteo:
  • Take Everett Transit 18 at Bay D2
Everett-Edmonds:
  • Take Community Transit Swift at Bay G1 to 196th St SW & Hwy 99
  • Transfer to Community Transit 196
Mukilteo - Edmonds:
  • Take Community Transit 113 at Hwy 525 & Front St to Lynnwood Transit Center
  • Transfer to Community Transit 116

Amtrak Service Alert, 4 pm PST, 2/9:

 

Amtrak Resumes Services in Pacific Northwest

 

The BNSF Railway has re-opened its tracks following a landslide between Seattle and Everett, Wash., and Kelso, Wash., and Portland, Ore. over the weekend. Amtrak Cascades and Empire Builder trains have now resumed normal operations through the area.

Sounder Northline to Resume Service 2/10/15

 

 

Northline Sounder service between Everett and Seattle is scheduled to resume service tomorrow morning, 2/10/15.
