PANYNJ news release:

ADVISORY - PATH RIDERS ADVISED TO ALLOW FOR EXTRA TRAVEL TIME THIS WEEKEND DUE TO JERSEY CITY’S ANNUAL PRIDE FESTIVAL

Date: Aug 24, 2016

PATH riders traveling to and from New York City this Saturday, August 27 are advised to allow extra travel time due to the annual Jersey City LGBT Pride Festival, which is expected to draw several thousand participants. The festival is scheduled for noon to 8 p.m., on Newark Avenue between Grove Street and Jersey Avenue near PATH’s Grove Street station.

Passengers are further advised that PATH’s 33rd Street line will be closed again this weekend to accommodate ongoing installation of federally mandated safety and security upgrades and necessary maintenance. Weekend service suspension went into effect August 6 and is scheduled to run through Deccember 19, excluding major holidays.

To minimize travel inconvenience, PATH has added direct Hoboken-to-World Trade Center train service on weekends, and free shuttle buses are now available between the WTC and West 29th Street.

PATH has adjusted its voucher policy for the shuttle buses after closely monitoring operations to accommodate customers whose ride originates in midtown Manhattan.

Customers boarding at Church and Warren streets near the WTC to travel up to 29th Street must have a voucher, which can be obtained at the WTC station before passing through the turnstiles. But shuttle bus passengers originating in midtown Manhattan can now board a WTC-bound shuttle along the Seventh Avenue pick-up stops by showing a MetroCard or SmartLink card, in addition to vouchers. They will not be charged.
