  • Interests:I like trains,don't care about hp, axles,length,consist or tonnage I just like trains since I have been about 10 years old. I enjoy taking pictures of trains plus riding Amtrak. Camp a lot next to a NS mainline in Blanchet KY.<br />

A buddy of mine asked me what the "hot" placard meant on a freight car. I could not answer because I never thought about it before.Answers....Thanks.

A Google search for railroad car placard hot came up with bulk load of hot temperature material, the example was asphalt. I would assume they are using covered hoppers
