I verified with Metra that 10 people can ride together on one 10-trip ticket. Something to consider, particularly on Monday when the $7 Weekend Pass is not valid. Similarly, it would follow that 5 people could share one 10-trip ticket for the round trip.

Thank you for your recent email. The 10-ride ticket is good for ten one-way trips between the fare zones indicated on the ticket. One ticket can be shared by people riding together. As information, this policy is published in all Metra public timetables, as well as on Metra's website.
