1949 diner-lounge railcar arrives at new Council Bluffs home

A crew from Scrib's Moving & Heavy Hauling works to move a 1949 Chicago & North Western diner-lounge car to the RailsWest Railroad Museum.
A historic railcar’s journey ended Wednesday at RailsWest Railroad Museum, South Main Street and 16th Avenue.
The 1949 Chicago & North Western diner-lounge car was donated to the Historical Society of Pottawattamie County almost two years ago by Gerry Kopiasz of Council Bluffs but has been parked at the Iowa Interstate Railroad yard while the society raised the $10,000 needed to have it moved, said Carla Borgaila, museum coordinator for the society. They reached that goal recently, thanks to the Iowa West Foundation and other donors.
