Metra news release:

Take Metra to the Chicago Auto Show

(Feb. 9, 2016) – If you plan to attend the Chicago Auto Show at McCormick Place Feb. 13 through Feb. 21, let Metra take you there.

With Metra’s convenient schedules, getting to the Auto Show has never been easier, especially on the Metra Electric Line, which has a station right on site at McCormick Place. Residents of the south side of Chicago and the southern suburbs can take a Metra Electric train directly to McCormick Place, and those travelling from or living downtown can make the quick trip from Millennium and Van Buren Street Stations to McCormick Place.

“Metra is the reliable choice for anyone wanting to come to the largest auto show in North America,” said Metra Executive Director/CEO Don Orseno. “Enjoy the fun and excitement the show has to offer by riding the train and avoiding the hassles of driving and parking”

Getting to the show from Metra’s other downtown stations is easy too, thanks to our friends at the CTA. Special Auto Show buses will run every 12 to 30 minutes weekdays and every 10 to 30 minutes weekends from 8 a.m. to 10:30 p.m. (until 8:30 p.m. on Sunday, February 21).

Just look for “To Auto Show McCormick Place” signs on buses and board at the following stations:
• Ogilvie Transportation Center - Board the southbound bus on Clinton Street at Madison Street
• Chicago Union Station - Board the southbound bus on Clinton Street at Quincy Street or eastbound Jackson Boulevard at the river.
• LaSalle Street Station - Board the eastbound bus on Jackson Boulevard at Financial Place.

Weekend attendees can save even more money by taking advantage of Metra's unlimited ride $8 Weekend Pass. Plus, with Metra’s Family Fares, up to three children 11 and under can ride free with an adult.

And remember, now when you ride Metra, you can buy tickets right from your smartphone with the new Ventra App. Download it from the App Store or Google Play.
