Our final day of travels together aboard Amtrak Empire Corridor Train #280 from Schenectady to New York City can be discussed here.

Fest is wrapping up with one more Amtrak trip together.   We left Schenectady on Amtrak Empire Service #280 about 7 minutes late. But with padding in Albany we departure from there exactly on time. We were in fact early into Poughkeepsie so our train spent some time there allowing the schedule to catch up. The four of us should arrive into New York City before 1 PM, at which time the official Fest will be over.

Spoke too soon.  We ran into a single tracking section necessitating our slowing down.  We arrived into New York Penn Station at 1:03 PM, 5 minutes down.

 

The Fest was officially over upon our arrival.  Everyone went for quick pizza, with 2 of us with close connections eating in the station, and 2 others going across the street.
