I noticed another change that was quietly brought about with the new general timetable changes effective April 6, 2015. The southbound trains that start out of Springfield, MA and run to Lynchburg, VA until April 6th were 147 on Saturdays and 145 on Sundays. 145 ran about an hour later in the day than 147. Now, 145 in New England has been replaced by an extended 157, which runs to Norfolk and previously originated in New York. 157 now runs Springfield-Norfolk on Sundays, in the same timeslot as its Saturday partner, 147. 145 to Lynchburg on Sundays still exists, but it originates in New York.
This of course flies in the face of the old train numbering system, since the Springfield trains that run through New Haven are generally in the 140's. Of course that rule has already been broken by the Friday night 136, which runs Washington to Springfield.
