The Boston Globe, 4/18:

Attleboro boy suffers burns in incident at commuter rail tracks

A 13-year-old boy suffered third-degree burns after an incident involving power lines at the commuter rail tracks in Attleboro, officials said.

The boy, an Attleboro resident whose name was not released, was throwing some kind of steel objects at the lines above the tracks at about 5 p.m., according to Fire Captain Gerald Brogan.

When the objects hit the high-voltage wires, there was a power arc and the boy suffered a burn on his right leg, Brogan said. The youth was taken to Hasbro Children’s Hospital, a division of Rhode Island Hospital.

Another 13-year-old boy was with the victim in the area, which is behind the Polyfiber LLC building on Starkey Avenue. That boy was not injured, Brogan said.
