Press release from Las Vegas Railway Express, 1/10/14:

Las Vegas Railway Express, Inc. (OTCQB: XTRN) -- XTrainVacations.com -- Luxury Rail Travel Website Launched

LAS VEGAS, NV--(Marketwired - Jan 10, 2014) - The Las Vegas Railway Express, Inc., (OTCQB: XTRN), also known as the X Train, today announced their new passenger rail travel services business. The Las Vegas based company begins booking rail travel excursions via their new state of the art website and call center effective January 10, 2014.

The company continues to be engaged in developing a luxury train travel route between Los Angeles and Las Vegas and last spring announced their expansion to include "X Train Vacations" -- specializing in rail vacations in the US and Canada. The X Train diverse product line offers a variety of choices throughout the United States and Canada from scenic journeys, casino fun packages and overnight cross country rail adventures.

"We have been working diligently to make the website user friendly, simple, and elegant. We want our customers to have the best experience from first click to last station stop," said Danielle White, Webmaster. "We are excited to present our rail vacations that go all the way across the US and Canada. It has been a long process, but we can't wait to show our other products in 2014."

The luxury train company expects to expand exclusive passenger rail service quickly with their exclusive product "Club X Train" and plans to announce additional routes and services for rail travel enthusiasts very soon. Club X Train offers an exclusive alternative to current passenger service giving travelers the opportunity to enjoy the passing scenery in large comfortable seats while being served luxurious food and beverages. On board adventures, special events and private functions will soon be available aboard Club X Train.

About Las Vegas Railway Express

The X Train is a Las Vegas, Nevada based company that offers exclusive railway train service between premier destinations. Offering day trips and vacation packages, the X Train passengers can expect spacious first class seating, complimentary beverages and fresh catered food options prepared exclusively by Masterpiece Cuisine. In addition, the X Train passengers will enjoy on board concierge service to book hotel rooms, transportation transfers, entertainment, show tickets and other travel incidentals. The X Train is part of the Las Vegas Railway Express, Inc. which is a publicly traded company (OTCQB: XTRN). For more information, please visit the company website at http://www.vegasxtrain.com/ ( or http://www.xtrainvacations.com/ ).

So they've opened up a website (which did exist before this announcement) that will allow booking trips, but yet they haven't yet announced a startup date to be able to take said trips. Methinks we're getting the simple "progress treatment".

I was ready to look at schedules and book. This causes them to lose credibility in my mind. .

Supporters of maglev see chance to re-enter game

As the XpressWest and X Train passenger rail projects look to regroup, supporters of Southern Nevada’s original high-speed plan — the maglev — are seeing an opportunity to re-enter the game.

If these guys could make a deal with Union Pacific for extra track on UP's right-of-way to run a conventional train from LA toLas Vegas at an average speed of 55 miles per hour, they'd be up and running faster and with a lot less debt load, IMO.

Of note is that the original post here was in January, and now 2/3 of the way through 2014 not much has happened in the Los Angeles-Las Vegas market. Only change for X-Train was its acquisition of the tourist operation in Santa Fe, NM.
