Weather Advisory

 

VRE will be monitoring the projected storm throughout the evening and into tomorrow morning. We will make a determination on train service for tomorrow no later than 4am. Please stay tuned to Train Talk Alerts and vre.org for updates. 

 

Facilities crews will be out through the night to pretreat and clear as necessary. However, please use extreme caution while driving to and from our stations, and while through the parking lots and on the platforms. Also, when boarding and moving throughout the train.

SERVICE ADVISORY

 

VIRGINIA RAILWAY EXPRESS (VRE)

 

Service Canceled for Wednesday, February 20th

 

Due to the approaching storm, and subsequent deteriorating weather conditions throughout the day, we have canceled VRE service for Wednesday, February 20, 2019.

 

VRE offices will also be closed.

 

We plan to operate a regular service on Thursday, February 21, 2019.

 

This was issued just a few minutes  after OPM announced the Federal Government is closed tomorrow in the National Capital Region.  The Baltimore Federal Executive Board has also closed the government in that region.  -Ross
