ITEM 1:

BIG CROWDS IN SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA

TRAC volunteers at Los Angeles Union Station Rich McLaughlin, Bart Reed and Justin Walker report a huge crowd at this year's Train Day. Link to Southern California Public Radio for more: "Organizers said this year the event was more crowded than last year. By 1 p.m., with three hours to go before closing time, organizers estimated about as many as 5,000 visitors to the exhibition. Last year, a similar number of people visited the exhibition through the day."

ENTHUSIASTIC CROWD AT STATE RAIL MUSEUM

TRAC volunteer Bob Reynolds at Sacramento's California State Railroad Museum met many enthusiastic rail fans in the Roundhouse in front of the Southern Pacific 4-6-2 loco. http://www.csrmf.org

OUTREACH AT SAN JOSE DIRIDON

TRAC Volunteer Cathy Johnson led outreach effort at San Jose's Diridon Station. Amtrak had not planned anything at this venue so her presence was very welcome. Thank you, Cathy!

Thanks to all who visited our locations and thanks to all members who visited anywhere on Train Day. Next year will be bigger and better!
