Time to switch to post-Fest mode as we have (finally) completed another Rail Fest. We had to wait 2 extra months to pull it off, but it was a success. A bit cold and windy, but far better than what happened in January in the areas we eventually travelled to in March. We got to ride 4 Amtrak trains together in 3 days, and had a productive weekend sharing knowledge and experiencing Amtrak at its best and worst.
Everyone who rode Amtrak to, from, or during the Fest, if you have not already done so please report your mileage in the appropriate thread to Bill for inclusion in our Amtrak Mileage Tally. The more the merrier, and it's these big trips that can make a huge surge on the graphs Bill does that show our mileage compared to previous years. Maybe we can beat previous years and/or come closer to our best years of Amtrak travel?
A total of 8 people were involved, but for Saturday we had just 5, and Sunday 6 after leaving Rochester. Strangely we reached our peak on Monday, a business day that those who work likely had to take off. While we never had more than 7 people aboard any trains together, we did reach a point while standing on the New Haven platform waiting for Regional #171 when all 8 people were together in one place
