NJ TRANSIT Expects Big Bills for Offering Alternatives During Delays
New Jersey Transit has had a tough few weeks.
The agency’s board approved a fare increase that was roundly denounced by riders frustrated by deteriorating service. Then came several days of unusually bad rail delays that left passengers even more exasperated.
And now the beleaguered state agency is expecting some expensive bills for the alternative options it provided to thousands of passengers caught up in the spate of service disruptions, which began on July 20 and stretched into last week.
