Train service suspended due to landslide

Amtrak services are temporarily disrupted between Vancouver, WA and Kelso, WA due to a landslide. BNSF Railway, which own the tracks, has placed a 48-hour moratorium, suspending all rail traffic in the area until Wednesday, Mar. 15. Amtrak is working to secure alternate transportation for the Amtrak Cascades and Coast Starlight service.
 
Normal rail operations continue south of Portland to Eugene, OR.

Train service suspended due to landslide

Amtrak services remain temporarily disrupted between Vancouver, WA and Kelso, WA due to multiple landslides in the area. BNSF Railway, which own the tracks, has extended a 48-hour moratorium, suspending all rail traffic in the area until Friday, Mar. 17. Amtrak is providing alternate transportation for the Amtrak Cascades and Coast Starlight service.

 

Normal rail operations continue north of Seattle and south of Portland to Eugene, OR.

Train service suspended due to landslide

Amtrak services are temporarily disrupted between Edmonds and Everett, Wash., due to a landslide. BNSF Railway, which owns the tracks, has placed a 48-hour moratorium, suspending all rail traffic in the area until Tuesday, March 21.

 

Alternate transportation will be provided for Sunday’s Amtrak Cascade trains 513 and 516 and the Empire Builder. Amtrak Cascades trains 510 and 517, originating on Sunday, are cancelled in their entirety. Amtrak is working to secure alternate transportation for the Empire Builder and Amtrak Cascades service with Monday departures.

 

Scheduled rail operations continue south of Seattle to Portland and Eugene, Ore.

Sound Transit, 3/19:

Rider Alert: Sounder north line - Canceled 3/20/17 due to a mudslide

 

Sounder north line service is canceled Monday, March 20, due to a mudslide. Sound Transit will monitor the situation, if there are no additional events, service is expected to resume Tuesday, March 21. Please monitor http://www.soundtran...le/rider-alerts for updates to Sounder north line service prior to your commute.

 

Sounder north line special bus service information for tomorrow mornings commute, along with the regularly scheduled bus service is listed below. Evening bus service for 3/20/17 will be provided tomorrow in the early afternoon.

 

Morning bus service on 3/20/17

 

Everett – Seattle: Special buses will depart Everett Station from the Greyhound platform at 5:45 am, 6:15 am, 6:45 am and 7:15 am. Riders may also board regularly scheduled ST Express route 510 departing Everett Station bay C1 approximately every 10-15 minutes.

 

Mukilteo – Seattle: Special buses will depart Mukilteo Station from the train platform driveway roundabout at 5:56 am, 6:26 am, 6:56 am and 7:26 am. Riders may also board regularly scheduled Community Transit route 417 at the Ferry Terminal departing at 5:49 am, 6:21 am, 6:51 am, 7:21 am, and 7:53 am.

 

Edmonds – Seattle: Special buses will depart Edmonds Station in the Amtrak parking lot at 6:11 am, 6:41 am, 7:11 am and 7:41 am. Riders may also board regularly scheduled Community Transit route 416 at Bay 2 departing at 5:45 am, 6:15 am, 6:34 am, 6:55 am, and 7:42 am.

 

Everett – Mukilteo:

  • Take Everett Transit route 18 at Bay D2

Everett – Edmonds:

  • ST Express 532 to Ash Way P&R
  • Transfer to Community Transit 116

Mukilteo – Edmonds:

  • Take Community Transit route 113 at Hwy 525 & Front St. to Lynnwood Transit Center

Rider Alert: Sounder north line

 

A mudslide has occurred on the north corridor blocking the tracks between Mukilteo and Everett. We are working with BNSF to see if we can bring the north line trains as far as Mukilteo, then send buses to Mukilteo to take passengers to Everett. In the meantime we recommend riders take regularly scheduled buses.

 

Updates will be provided as soon as it becomes available.

 

Regularly Scheduled Bus Service

 

Seattle-Edmonds: Take Community Transit Route 416 at 5th Ave & James St. at 3:59pm, 4:29 pm, 5:01 pm, 5:34pm and 5:59 pm

Seattle-Mukilteo: Take Community Transit Route 417 at 4th Ave S & S. Jackson St. at 3:09 pm, 3:59 pm, 4:22 pm, 4:50 pm, 5:30 pm and 6:00 pm

 

Seattle-Everett: Take ST Express Route 510 at 4th Ave S & S. Jackson St. departing every 10-15 minutes

Sound Transit 5:48 pm PDT 3/24:
 

Update: One final train running out of Seattle - Sounder north line

 

We will be running one final train from Seattle to Mukilteo. Buses will then take passengers from Mukilteo to Everett. The train will depart Seattle soon (within the next 5-10 minutes).

 

Riders on trains #1700 (4:05 pm) and #1702 (4:33 pm) are already holding at Mukilteo Station. Sound Transit is working have buses sent to assist passengers needing to get to Everett. The first bus should arrive around 5:45 pm.

The BNSF Railway has cleared its tracks of a landslide and re-opened the route between Seattle and Everett, Wash., to passenger train service. Amtrak Cascades and Empire Builder trains have resumed regular scheduled operations.
