New train station in Niagara Falls
A new $44 million dollar train station is coming to the north end of the City of Niagara Falls.
Saturday, the City held an open house for the new station. Amtrak brought in a ceremonial train for the celebration -- although it has yet to sign a lease to begin using the new train station.
MoreIt looks big and spacious like Albany/Rensselear. Now if only there could be dedicated (perhaps even "Thruway" type) connections between that station and where people need to go, namely the Falls area where the hotels and attractions are. There is a city bus between the two, but there needs to be something more seamless and comfortable for those travelling with luggage. And to my knowledge I don't think any of the hotels on the New York side of the Falls have shuttles that go to the Amtrak station.
