MARC Service Alert 8:18 pm 3/21/18:

R schedule for MARC Train Thurs, Mar 22, additional modifications for Penn Line, details:

As of 8:00pm Wednesday evening, MARC Train will operate on the "R" schedule on Thursday, March 22.  A final determination (R schedule or no service) will be made by 4:00am after early morning consultations with Amtrak and CSX Transportation.

Camden and Brunswick Lines will operate the published R schedule.  Brunswick Line passengers should note that the only departure from Washington to West Virginia stations will be Train 875, departing Union Station at 4:25pm.  There will be no EPTA connecting bus service - Train 881 will terminate in Brunswick as it does on the "R" schedule and there will be no alternate transportation to West Virginia stations.

The Penn Line R schedule will be modified as follows:

--Train 407 (5:50am departure from Penn Station) will not operate.

--Train 409 (6:13am departure from Penn Station), which normally does not operate on the "R" schedule will operate and will make all stops between Baltimore and Washington

--Train 440 (5:24pm departure from Washington) will not operate.

For passengers at Perryville, Aberdeen, and Edgewood, Amtrak has notified MARC Train that Amtrak train 151 (6:53am departure from Perryville for MARC weekly and monthly ticket holders) is cancelled tomorrow.  Amtrak Trains 148 and 186 (2:55 and 7:00pm departures from Washington to Aberdeen) will operate.

We encourage our passengers to follow our safety guidelines for winter weather:

--Please allow not only extra time for your commute on MARC, but most importantly, extra time to drive or walk to your station.

--Roads and sidewalks will be slick.  Please walk, do not run, from your car to the train.

--We strongly recommend wearing appropriate footwear tomorrow. Men's dress shoes and women's heels are not conducive to this level of cold and slick conditions.

--Also, please dress in layers and protect all exposed skin. This is especially important in and around your face and head.

Any delays or service issues for tomorrow morning will be posted on our website, https://nam01.safeli...t74=&reserved=0 , on our Twitter feed @mtamaryland and sent by E-mail alert message.

Thank you for riding MARC Train and, again, please be extra careful tomorrow morning.
