From the useless trivia department:
The actual test phrase is "The quick brown fox jumped over a lazy dog's back 1234567890 times."
Teletype Corporation devised this sentence for use in testing Teletype machines in the days the company was a subsidiary of Western Electric. Rail content: railroads were dependent on Western Union Teletype machines for passing messages back and forth.
