4 N.J. Transit Conductors Sold Stolen Tickets, Prosecutors Say
The four New Jersey Transit conductors collected tickets from their usual passengers in their usual cars, making idle chatter day after day as riders flashed monthly rail passes that can run more than $400.
The banter eventually grew more hushed, and, prosecutors said, the conductors turned the monotony of the commute into a moneymaking venture.
