Trains still a problem across region
JUNCTION CITY - Residents in Wood and Portage counties still are blocked by trains stopped for hours at a time three months after a Gannett Wisconsin Media investigation into the issue — although some have seen signs of improvement.
The number of trains passing by their home seems fewer on some days than in the past, but Jim and Barb Vitort of Junction City said trains still are left idle in front of their driveway for hours, cutting them off from work or help if an emergency arose. The couple said Canadian National railroad seems as oblivious to their plight as ever.
