QALYOUB, Egypt (AP) -- A passenger train barreled into a northern Egypt railway station Monday and collided with a second train, killing at least 51 people and injuring more than 100.
The collision occurred in the town of Qalyoub, about 12 miles north of the capital, during the morning commute, Adly Hussein, governor of Qalyoubia province, told Egyptian state television.

Continue.Egyptian court jails 14 railway officials after deadly train accident
CAIRO, Egypt: An Egyptian court sentenced 14 railway officials, including the deputy chairman of the railway authority, to one year in jail Sunday for their role in a deadly train accident that killed 58 people last year.
The Qalyub Criminal Court convicted the 14 officials of gross negligence, including ignoring repairs to technical equipment that signaled the trains.
