VRE Train Talk Alert, 1/20/18:

VRE will operate it's regular full service during the government shutdown.

If we notice ridership dropping dramatically, we may consider changing to an “S” Schedule later in the week, however, we will notify the public via Train Talk, social media and our website.

VRE NEWS

VIRGINIA RAILWAY EXPRESS (VRE)

Virginia Railway Express & its partner, CommuterDirect.com is aware of how difficult these past weeks have been for all employees and families adversely affected by the recent federal furlough.  In response, CommuterDirect.com will be providing a free, one-time upgrade to USPS Priority Mail shipping for all customers that place an order for VRE passes through 2:00pm on February 1, 2019.

The fee for this upgrade normally costs $6.50 and provides expedited delivery to get most passes into the mailboxes of our clients within 2-3 business days.  This is compared to first class delivery taking up to 4-7 days.  When your pass arrives, you will notice that your ticket will arrive in a larger 6" x 9" USPS Priority Mail envelope, as compared to the normal white business-sized envelope that usually holds our first-class mail orders.

We hope that this expedited delivery offer can help make it easier to get your passes after the long and stressful past 36+ days.
