In 1990, the first dual mode buses ran in the Downtown Seattle Transit Tunnel. Although it turned out to be a first step towards today's Link Light Rail, things could have been different that year. In February 1968, voters in King County saw $1.1Billion (1968 dollars), as too much. Perhaps if built, Pierce and Snohomish Counties would have bought in later.

At 50.8% the measure failed, and Federal money went to Atlanta instead.
