Trolley service returns to Galveston with decked-out buses

Free service; buses used as restoration continue on Ike-damaged rail cars

Um, not so fast......  Much of Galveston, including the Strand District where the old trolley ran until 2008, is now under water from Harvey.   :(  As I said above, someday another big storm would hit the city, and now it has.

Gomaco is upgrading Galveston's three diesel-powered trolleys built by Miner Car Company—now known as Kasgro—New Castle, PA.

So the rolling stock likely was outside Texas when Hurricane Harvey hit, but it would be just as important to know how the infrastructure (tracks, signals, etc.) fared from the flooding.
