Thanks Ross.  Hopefully Mary had it right.

But given the short time available and the choice between paper day passes and the ability to load them onto smart cards, in the interest of pre-purchasing it may be best if Bill could pre-purchase the Day Passes on the paper versions since he won't have access to our smart cards.   And given that it's confirmed multiple Day Passes can be purchased, that lends itself even more towards the paper ones.    Even if the upper limit is 5, that would still reduce Bill's transactions to 3 or 4 depending on how many are needed.

Saxman, this link should answer your questions. http://www.wmata.com...ase/vending.cfm

Kevin and Bill.  I will not need a day pass for Baltimore.  I set up my smart card for auto reload so that I can just tap and go.  I will be arriving late Friday night and the last thing I want to do is fiddle faddle with those machines in the metro station.  They never seem to work as efficiently or as quickly as I would like.  Or they are out of order.

Baltimore Day Pass Purchase

This applies only to participants gathering at Washington Union Station

If you are meeting the group in Baltimore, please purchase your MTA fare ahead of the group arrival so we can promptly board the light rail.

I will take orders, and collect the purchase price for MTA Day Passes as we gather Saturday morning.  Please have exact change ($3.50/pass); I will have some change but I'm not a bank! ;)

I will text Bill with the number of passes needed.  He expects to arrive about 35 minutes ahead of the group (Amtrak 131 - ETA 9:27) and will purchase the passes ahead of our arrival.   :)

Hopefully this will allow us to make the 10:14 Light Rail departure.  We have only a 12 minute layover between MARC 476 scheduled arrival and Light Rail departure.    Amtrak track work may delay our arrival. :o

Looking forward to seeing everybody Saturday.

Warm Regards,

Ross
