My ride home on very full 82 from BAL to MET was few minutes off schedule, but having last window seat in Quiet Car was a win because that was 2nd of the naps of the day. I know I was asleep by the time we reached Aberdeen and awoke in Bristol PA. Got into my car, drove home, quickly changed into my work uniform and drove to work.

This is train 3267, 5:43 Long Branch express with connection to Bay Head. South Amboy is next. First and last cars are Quiet Cars. All tickets please.

I just got home a few minutes ago. I got on 29 for Chicago. During the night we had to slow some to follow a freight a good ways. I could actually see the freight we were following as we went around the curves. Of course we lost some more time going through Indiana and ended up in Chicago about 1.5 hours late. But I was okay with it to cut into my 11 hour layover. I stowed my stuff and figured I'd visit the Museum of Science and Industry since it had been a few years. Forgetting it was MLK day, it was a zoo there. Luckily, I got in free. Afterward, I took a bus over to the Green Line and rode to the southern and then back over to Union Station. I still had an unused Amtrak ticket to Glenview so I took the 5:08 PM Hiawatha there and returned on Metra. By the time I returned, the Lounge had emptied out and soon boarded the 59 for NOL. During the night we lost a few minutes, but never lost more than 20-25 the second day. I still arrived into NOL about 20 minutes early, and hopped on the streetcar to go to the Quarter.

I forgot, while I was on 29 going through Brunswick, MD, I saw a guy taking photos. I was made famous as you can see me in this picture!:

I'm in the first car, 4th window back. If you squint really hard, and zoom in, you might see my face!

I arrived home more or less on time, late this morning.  Thanks again for a great fest.  I am looking forward to the next one. :)
