KCS Service Status Update:

Maintenance of Way – Mexico - October 2015

10/2/2015

Ensuring our lines are maintained and operating at their optimal performance, Maintenance of Way work is critical to achieving this. However, we also recognize that this can cause an inconvenience for our customers.

To help you plan, here are the details of the Maintenance of Way being performed by Kansas City Southern de Mexico for the month of October:

Beginning on October 1st and lasting until approximately October 20th, there will be a series of maintenance of way efforts on several of our lines with little to no impact expected  to traffic:
A *= Lines BD-B-NB—BJ between Buchanan López - Escobedo - Qro.
B* = Between Queretaro - Huehuetoca (Juarez/Morelos)
C* = Line F between Lobos – Matamoros
D* = Line V between Los Reyes - Perote - Santa Fe Wood and Rail in Veracruz

Also beginning on October 1st , with a planned duration of 3 weeks, is the track noted below which may result in some potential delays for intermodal shipments originating in Lazaro Cardenas:
E* = Caltzontzin N Line between Acambaro – Alvarez

Lastly, starting October 7th continuing through October 14th, maintenance of way will be done on the Saltillo B and BF lines. The work will be done between Leal and Ramos Arizpe (through Rinconada).  (See “F”  and “G” on the attached map via the HTML version). There are minimal delays expected with this MOW project.

Our goal is to always minimize disruption for our customers and we will continue to work toward this.  While some of these areas may have potential for delays, please know that our customer service team will be monitoring the impact this maintenance may have on our customers’ schedules and will notify those with potential significant impacts.

Should you have any questions related to potential delays or these maintenance efforts, please don’t hesitate to contact us at KCSM Customer Solutions. KCSM Customer Solutions analysts are monitoring the situation and can provide additional information specific to your shipment.

We apologize for any inconvenience and we appreciate your patience as we improve our rails.
