State Sen. Tony Avella has hopped aboard the effort to offer cheaper commuter rail tickets so Queens residents can ditch their cars for the Long Island Rail Road into Manhattan.
And with handwringing about the Metropolitan Transportation Authority’s finances, the Queens lawmaker — a member of the Senate’s Independent Democratic Conference — told the Daily News he’d be willing to put Albany’s money where his mouth is.
