[NSAlert] Hurricane Dorian - NS Storm Preparations

Norfolk Southern has commenced planning for Hurricane Dorian, which is expected to affect NS rail operations in the Southeast and Mid-Atlantic coast early next week. NS will begin recovery using staged equipment and materials as soon as it is safe to do so.
NS will provide updates as the storm progresses. Customers with specific service questions should contact their NS customer service representative.

Norfolk Southern continues to monitor the path of Hurricane Dorian and has taken reasonable and practical precautions to protect employees and rail shipments along the Mid-Atlantic coast. Customers can expect delays on traffic destined to or shipping from these areas. Additionally, Intermodal origin facility gates across the system are closed to shipments destined for Savannah, Charleston, and FEC destinations. NS has staged equipment and materials in key areas and will begin recovery activities as soon as it is safe to do so.
Norfolk Southern will continue to provide updates as the storm progresses. Customers with specific service questions or whose operations will be curtailed as a result of the storm should contact their NS customer service representative.

[NSAlert] Hurricane Dorian Update

Norfolk Southern continues to monitor the path of Hurricane Dorian as it travels up the Mid-Atlantic Coast. Traffic destined to or shipping from the affected areas may experience some delay. As the storm progresses north traffic patterns are stabilizing in Florida and Southern Georgia. All Norfolk Southern Intermodal terminals will accept traffic destined to Florida (FEC) and will open gates tomorrow at 6:00am for traffic destined to the ports of Charleston and Savannah. In the Carolinas and northern coastal regions, NS has staged equipment and materials in key areas and will begin recovery activities as soon as it is safe to do so.
