Denver, CO Post, 3/24/20:

RTD slashes bus, light rail service as coronavirus spurs “unrivaled” ridership drop

RTD’s elected board unanimously approved unprecedented cuts to rail and bus service Tuesday night in response to the coronavirus pandemic that has decimated ridership in just the last two weeks. The COVID-19 service plan will take effect April 19.

Story here.

I am surprised they are not putting the virus related service cut into effect immediately but are waiting almost another month.  Whatever losses they have had will only compound.

Denver, CO {Post, 4/8/20:

RTD to reduce service on B-Line, G-Line due to coronavirus pandemic; no change to A-Line service

RTD will add two of its three commuter rail corridors — specifically the B-Line and G-Line — to the long list of bus and train routes set to go undergo frequency reductions starting April 19 due to steep ridership drops resulting from the coronavirus pandemic.

Still scratching my head to try and figure out why they won't make their reductions until April 19th.  Everyone else has.    Story here.

Regional Transportation District of Denver (RTD) riders ranked train or bus use as the least safe activity to participate in during the pandemic, according to an RTD survey of nearly 2,700 riders.

Conducted online earlier this month, the survey found that riders remain apprehensive about engaging in social activities. Most respondents deemed riding RTD as the least safe activity relative to other choices provided in the survey, such as grocery shopping, visiting a drugstore or pharmacy, visiting friends, visiting family and exercising outside.
