A little late, but just to understand the far reach this storm had, there was disruption to the GCRTA Red Line in Cleveland during Sandy. From WEWS-TV, ABC-5 in Cleveland, OH, 10/30/12:

Superstorm Sandy stalls some RTA routes in Cleveland

Around 5 a.m., RTA officials said an overhead wire came down on the Red Line eastbound track, just east of the Brookpark Station, and left eight passengers stranded.

And yes, if Cleveland felt it, then so did Pittsburgh and Buffalo, which each have light rail that runs both outside and in tunnels. I checked, and both seem to have fared well.
