Again rarely did the train hit maxiumum track speed, perhaps until the last segment of the trip. We were over an hour late into Vancouver, WA, and then after the last jog over the Columbia River and into Portland with padding we arrived at 3:39 PM, 34 minutes late.

I woke up in the Hilton near Sea-Tac Airport. I enjoy using different Amtrak stations so thought I would try out getting on at Tukwila which was nearby. Luckily the Tukwila Amtrak station has been much improved and one can actually make an airport transfer there. So I boarded the Linx light rail from the airport and went one stop to the International Blvd station. There I caught a bus to Tukwila where and I waited, and waited for the group to arrive on 513, the southbound Cascades. First I watched a BNSF tank car train go northbound on our intended platform. Thinking #513 was waiting on this, I was surprised by a northbound Cascades train. No idea why because there were 3 other tracks available, but it may have been track work in another spot. Finally 513 arrived about 30 minutes late and I boarded my business class seat. I realized one drawback to boarding at a station downline. I didn't get a good seat selection, and had to stare at a pillar. I made do though and had lunch aboard the train into Portland.
