I also got tweet from Amtrak that Carolinian (#79) was annulled at Raleigh due to the weather.    That probably means that #80 will originate from there tomorrow (Friday) morning.

Carolinian Train 79 that departed NYP on 10/11 will terminate in Raleigh, NC (RGH) due to weather conditions from Tropical Storm Michael. Alternate transportation will be provided between RGH and Charlotte, NC (CLT).

Also, the Roanoke-bound train, #171, was delayed in Lynchburg due to a weather related downed tree:

Train 171 is currently stopped north of Lynchburg, VA (LYH) due to a downed tree blocking the tracks. We will update as more information becomes available.

Train 171 is back on the move currently operating about 2hr 37min late due to a downed tree in its path outside of Lynchburg (LYH) that has now been removed. Please check http://Amtrak.com  or our mobile app for additional status updates.
