I was in the area on Saturday, so drove around Fonda, Palatin Bridge and Amsterdam. It is amazing how high the water had risen. On Saturday water was down but very little was moving on CSX. Eastbound freights were standing nose to tail all the way from Palatin Bridge to just east of Amsterdam, where NY-5 was closed so I could check out any further east. The Eastbound track was completely blocked by trains. So I presume the few Amtrak trains running were basically running single track on the Westbound track, with possibly occasional gaps in the Eastbound parade to allow crossing, or use a few of the sidings on the Westbound side.
