Since October 1 the 51 to 50 connection at CVS has made every day. (Sorry for the HUGE size of the attachment. The board software expanded it to fill the space.)

I prefer day trips.  Have requested the weekend off.

Thanks, Bill for the chart.  That looks promising.

It is the end of the month, and the results are clear on where this is going to go.  I will try to put together the announcements and web pages in the coming days, and if I don't finish by Sunday then I'll be working on it while travelling in the same general area on another scheduled trip.

Pending the formal announcement, are the dates set enough for me to go ahead and book my flights and hotels? Thanks.

Yes.   I'd be careful with a potential Sunday evening flight in the event of train delays.... and possibly Metro could be out between Alexandria and Reagan Airport as its next Safe Track surge affecting the Blue & Yellow lines through Alexandria is scheduled for "early January".

Thanks. Fortunately I am planning on a Monday afternoon flight (I have Monday off for the holiday). So Sunday evening is not an issue for me. My flight would be from Dulles, so Silver Line would be the important one for me. AFAICT Silver Line is pretty much out of the woods after December 21.

I went ahead and made train reservations (turning a long weekend into 6 days).  I am leaving ORL on Wednesday, going to New York, spending Thursday night at a very reasonably priced hotel, then traveling to DC on Friday noon.  I am spending Friday, Saturday and Sunday nights in DC and will leave WAS on Monday, arriving ORL on Tuesday.

Any thoughts about coach vs business class for the day trips?

I made some reservations yesterday and attempted business class.  However, it seems like business is sold out for on 50 for Sunday, so I booked the saver fare for now.  I plan to watch to see if BC opens up.  For a moment, I considered a sleeper, but I could not justify the price for a such a short trip.

I'll do Business Class where available.    From my similar trip a couple weeks ago, the Cardinal uses the half cafe with the 2 x 1 brown leather seats for Business Class, so the inventory is not as much as it would be with a full Business Class car as found on other trains.
