MD MTA Light Rail Service Alert, 11:01 am 1/25:
 

UPDATED: Light Rail Service Suspended Until Further Notice

 

Light Rail services have been suspended until further notice. Maintenance crews continues to work on mainline tracks for snow removal and restoration. We appreciate your patience as we work diligently to restore service to normal.

 

This is subject to adjustment depending on changing weather conditions.

MD MTA Metro Subway Advisory, 11:03 am 1/25:
 

UPDATED: Metro Subway Advisory

 

Metro Subway is currently operating from Mondawmin Transit Center to Johns Hopkins stations only.

 

Metro Subway service will be suspended by 9:00 p.m.on Monday, January 25.

 

Service operations for Tuesday, January 26 will be assessed and determined on Monday, January 25, with the goal of returning to full service by Tuesday.

 

Based on progress of maintenance efforts to clear tracks, parking lots and stations, service will be restored westbound from Mondawmin toward Owings Mills.

 

This is subject to adjustment depending on changing weather conditions.

MD MTA MARC Service Alerts (limited service on 1/26):

 

6:52 pm

Penn Line - S schedule Tues, Jan 26, Trs 401, 505, 400, 404, 446 cancelled

 

The MARC Train Service, in consultation and cooperation with our operating partners at Amtrak, will operate limited service on Tuesday, January 26, as outlined below.  Please note that while progress has been made clearing station parking lots of snow, parking is limited due to the necessity of piling snow in some areas.  We are working as quickly as possible to remove excess snow.

 

Penn Line – Will operate on the “S” schedule.  However, the following trains WILL NOT operate:

 

--Train 401 (4:25am departure from Penn Station)

 

--Train 505 (4:40am departure from Perryville/5:24am departure from Penn Station)

   

--Train 400 (5:50am departure from Union Station)

   

--Train 404 (6:35am departure from Union Station)

   

--Train 446 (6:40pm departure from Union Station).

 

The first southbound departure from Penn Station in the morning will be Train 407 at 5:50am.  In the afternoon, Train 544 (6:23pm departure from Union Station) will hold 17 minutes at Union Station to depart on Train 446’s schedule. It will make all stops to Perryville.

 

Staff have been out since Sunday morning clearing station platforms and parking lots.  We strongly encourage all MARC passengers to adhere to the following guidelines for using our service during winter weather events:

 

--Wear appropriate footwear with good tread--men's dress shoes and women's heels are strongly discouraged.

   

--Add at least 20 extra minutes to your drive from home to the station--roads will be icy/slick.

   

--Drive slowly in your station's parking lot.

   

--WALK DO NOT RUN from your car to your train.

   

--Take extra care boarding and detraining, especially on low-level platforms.

--Train 880 (7:45am departure from Brunswick)

   

--Train 877 (4:55pm departure from Union Station)

   

--Train 881 (6:20pm departure from Union Station). This train will terminate in Brunswick.

Brunswick Station only-trains to DC Tues AM will board at the platform next to the station building

 

A message to passenger boarding at Brunswick station on Tuesday morning --

 

Both trains that will operate on Tuesday morning will board passengers on the platform next to the station building (the normal evening westbound platform).  Trains will not board on the platform on the south side of the parking lot / adjacent to the C&O Canal (the regular morning eastbound platform).

 

Again, departures from Brunswick will be at 6:40am and 7:45am.  Return trips will depart Union Station at 4:55pm and 6:20pm.

9:49 pm:

Camden Line-Greenbelt MARC service suspended on Tuesday, ride Washington Metro back from College Pk

 

Camden Line passengers--

 

There will be one westbound Camden Line train to DC tomorrow morning and one eastbound train in the evening.  Service at Greenbelt is suspended until further notice due to severe snow impact and continuing efforts to remove snow from both the platforms and the switches and station siding tracks (that allow the trains to pull into the high-level platforms).

 

Train 849 will depart Camden Station at 7:10am making all stops to Washington and Train 856 will depart Washington at 5:53 making all stops to Camden Station.  Again, neither train will stop at Greenbelt--passengers should ride to College Park and take Washington Metro back to Greenbelt.

 

An updated on Camden Line service for Wednesday will be provided on Tuesday evening.

As road and rail conditions improve following Snow Storm Jonas, the Maryland Department of Transportation’s Maryland Transit Administration (MTA) is expanding transit services with hope of returning to normal operations by week’s end. On Tuesday, Jan. 26, Light Rail will operate with expanded service from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m. Light Rail will operate limited service from North Avenue to Hunt Valley based on track conditions

 

Service operations for Wednesday, Jan. 27, will be determined on Tuesday, Jan. 26.

 

 

Metro Service Alert, 10:10 pm

ARC will continue to offer a reduced service on Wednesday, January 27 as MARC and our partners at Amtrak, CSX Transportation, and Bombardier continue to work to recover from Blizzard Jonas.

 

The Penn Line will operate on an “S” weekday schedule.  Only trains with an "S" under the train number in the printed timetable will operate.

 

As a reminder, please follow these guidelines to ensure safe travel.  Although the snow has stopped falling, there will be significant re-freezing overnight and the danger of slips, trips, and falls is real.

 

--Wear appropriate footwear with good tread--men's dress shoes and women's heels are strongly discouraged.

   

--Add at least 20 extra minutes to your drive from home to the station--roads will be icy/slick.

   

--Drive slowly in your station's parking lot.

   

--WALK DO NOT RUN from your car to your train.

   

--Take extra care boarding and detraining, especially on low-level platforms.

The following trains are the only Brunswick Line trains that will operate:

 

--Train 874 (6:05am departure from Brunswick)--will originate in Brunswick

   

--Train 876 (6:40am departure from Brunswick)

   

--Train 880 (7:45am departure from Brunswick)

   

--Train 873 (3:30pm departure from Union Station)

   

--Train 877 (4:55pm departure from Union Station)

   

--Train 881 (6:20pm departure from Union Station)--will terminate in Brunswick.

 

All trains will make all stops between Brunswick and Washington.  There will be no service to West Virginia stations or Monocacy and Frederick. The 515 MTA Commuter Bus is an option for Frederick and Monocacy passengers; MARC weekly and monthly passes are honored. The schedule is available at

Light Rail Advisory for Wed. Jan. 27th

 

On Wednesday January 27, Light Rail service will operate on its normal schedule of 5 a.m. to midnight in 15-minute intervals from Hunt Valley to North Avenue.

 

The MTA was ready to begin service in the Central Business District to Camden Yards, but a late evening natural gas main break has caused those plans to be temporarily delayed while crews repair the problem. Customers should check the MTA’s website or these alerts for updated information.

Light Rail service is operating on its normal schedule of 5 a.m. to midnight in 15-minute intervals from Hunt Valley to Cromwell and BWI Thurgood Marshall Airport. Light Rail will operate until midnight (normal hours of service) through this evening and going forward.

 

This is subject to adjustment depending on track conditions.
