There has been still no contact from the Center Cafe.  At 3 p.m eastern, 2pm central I am going to cut bait   I will call Pizzeria Uno and at 3:01 p.m eastern time and book a group reservation.  Then I will confirm separate checks and record the name of the employee verifying their policy.

The Center Cafe did not call back.  I am officially done working with them.  

 

I called Pizzeria Uno and in one phone  call accomplished what 3 phone calls to the center cafe could not. I made reservations for 18 for 5 p.m on January 17.  I confirmed with a manager whose name is Jerome that separate checks would be ok.  He explained that this could delay service since he was going to assign two servers to wait on us.  I think if some of us do subgroups of 2 or 3 that will expedite the process.  

 

I know I may seem somewhat regimented in this process, but past experiences with places of business have taught me to discern can do behaviors from can't do.  Pizzeria Uno has demonstrated can do, and Center Cafe cannot even return phone calls.  Which is can't do.  

 

Verifying and confirming that separate checks are viable is  very important.  We had a real mess in Albuquerque one year when I did not take the time to verify separate checks.  I do not want the group to go through that again.

I've been looking around thinking about our options, and have a thought.  How about the Hard Rock Cafe?  Yes, I can hear your groans all the way down here in Nashville, but give it a thought.  It has a wide variety of food for most people and I'm sure they could handle split checks with ease.

Preston the one I'm seeing is at  999 E Street NW, several blocks walk from Metro Center station. Is that the one you are referring to?

Iirc part of the reason we decided to stay in union station was to avoid longer walks. This is 4 blocks from metro Centrer which is similar to the walk to longhorns.

Yes. But I just called them and they will NOT handle 15 separate checks.
