MARC service alert 3/13/20

Amtrak cross-honor trains will not operate

Amtrak has notified MARC Train that Amtrak will begin operating a weekend schedule on the Northeast Corridor effective Monday, March 16.  As a result, the Amtrak trains which honor MARC tickets will not operate.  This will affect the following trains:

Amtrak 111 -- 7:34am departure from Perryville, 7:41 departure from Aberdeen, 7:49am depature from Edgewood Amtrak 85 -- 5:22pm departure from Aberdeen Amtrak 136/196 -- 2:55pm departure from Union Station Amtrak 186 -- 6:55pm departure from Union Station

Passengers should plan to ride regularly-scheduled MARC Penn Line trains until the Amtrak-MARC cross-honor trains resume service.  MARC Penn Line service will, at this time, continue to operate a full weekday schedule.

MARC service alert 3/15/20

MARC Train - Full service Wednesday and Penn Line schedule change reminder

MDOT MTA understands that transit is critical to the communities and region we serve. We are committed to continuing to provide reliable service to get our riders where they need to go: to work, social services, and family. All MDOT MTA modes are running on regular service schedules and we will let our riders know should we need to reduce service. For updates related to coronavirus, visit https://mta.maryland.gov/coronavirus

Penn Line passengers are reminded that a new schedule takes effect tomorrow (download a copy at www.mta.maryland.gov/marc-penn-mar2020 ).  Trains may experience 5-10 minutes delays between Odenton and West Baltimore due to the Amtrak trackwork project on the regular northbound track.  Passengers traveling on northbound trains to BWI Airport and Halethorpe must carefully listen to conductor announcements, since all doors will not open at these stations.

In addition to the trackwork-related delays, some trains may experience additional delay for the next several weeks.  Amtrak has transitioned temporarily to operating a weekend schedule on weekdays and Amtrak trains are operating at different times.  Passengers at Edgewood, Aberdeen and Perryville are also reminded that the Amtrak cross-honor trains (Trains 111, 85, 196, and 186) will not operate until further notice.

Thank you for riding MARC Train.

MD MTA Light Rail service alert 3/19/20

Light RailLink Service Advisory- COVID 19 Rider Alert

In an effort to mitigate the spread of COVID -19, PLEASE USE TRANSIT FOR ESSENTIAL TRAVEL ONLY. Essential travel means taking trips to work, hospitals, health care providers, pharmacies, grocery stores, banks, food distribution centers, schools, to provide care for family members, and other similar destinations.  By reducing unnecessary travel, transit becomes safer for those who depend on it, especially essential healthcare workers, and for those who operate it.  MDOT MTA encourages all employers to consider telework options where possible.
