Due to an oversize highway load on I-95 in Philadelphia striking and damaging the Conrail overpass that carries the NJ Transit Atlantic City Line, train service between Pennsauken and 30th Street station is suspended for at least three days. The strike occurred about 1:30 PM on Monday (4/1). Conrail expects to get the bridge repaired and reopened on Thursday, while PennDOT is more conservatively saying "by the weekend."

NJ TRANSIT website:

!

Atlantic City Rail Line service remains suspended in both directions between Philadelphia 30th Street and Pennsauken due to a bridge strike near Philadelphia 30th Street. NJ TRANSIT rail tickets and passes are being cross-honored by Bus 554, PATCO and substitute bus service is being provided between Philadelphia 30th Street and Cherry Hill stations.

The only problem is that Bus route 554 goes nowhere near the affected area.  Its western terminus is Lindenwold PATCO/NJT station, where NJT service is still offered. It runs east from there to Atlantic City, paralleling the rail line.

ACRL train #4624, the 12:04 PM departure from Atlantic City, is cancelled due to equipment availability. Please take train #4628, the 1:55 PM departure from Atlantic City, and transfer at Cherry Hill for NJ TRANSIT bus service to Philadelphia 30th St.

ACRL train #4617, the 10:49 AM arrival into Atlantic City, is cancelled due to equipment availability. Please take NJ TRANSIT bus service and transfer to train #4623, the 12:41 PM arrival into Atlantic City.

My guess is that there is at least one equipment set stranded in Philadelphia which was there when the incident happened.
