There are hotels of many shapes and sizes, costs, levels, etc. all over the Atlanta area. Most of them are clustered in different districts. Downtown, Midtown, Buckhead, and Dunwoody/Perimiter are all along the MARTA heavy rail lines. But remember as I said in another thread, to get to and from the Amtrak station requires the #110 bus. So if you are in Buckhead or certain locations in Midtown or Downtown you may not need to transfer to heavy rail if the bus will take you directly.

Another cluster of hotels is around the airport area. If a hotel's address is East Point, Camp Creek, Hapeville, or College Park, more than likely the property has a shuttle to & from the airport, and by extension, the Airport MARTA heavy rail station as well.

Other hotels, particularly in the Dunwoody/Doraville area (north of downtown) may also offer shuttles to and from the nearest MARTA station.

Consult my listing here for hotels near rail transit or served by complimentary shuttles between hotel and rail transit. This list was updated this morning with quite a few new entries.

There is one location that does not require transit to and from Amtrak. A Super-8 motel is located across Peachtree Street and then a block south, approached by simply walking over the bridge that spans I-75/85.

About 8 more hotels in the vicinity of the airport were added last night, so if you don't have plans yet, check again.
