NJT news release:
RARITAN VALLEY LINE TO RESUME REGULAR WEEKDAY SERVICE FOR MONDAY COMMUTE
NEWARK, NJ – Effective Monday, December 11, Raritan Valley Line trains will resume regular weekday service. Customers may experience possible 15 minute delays in both directions due to a speed restriction through the area following Friday’s freight train derailment near Union.
To reduce congestion on the line, the 8:32 a.m. departure (Train 5902) from Plainfield will not operate on Monday, December 11. Customers may instead use the 9:05 a.m. departure (Train 5126) from Plainfield. Customers are encouraged to use the mobile app feature for train times.
“NJ TRANSIT is grateful that Conrail was able to complete the necessary repairs over the weekend in time to restore regular weekday service for our customers for their Monday morning commutes,’’ said NJ TRANSIT Executive Director Steven H. Santoro. “We wish to extend our thanks to our local, county and state partners for all their assistance and coordination, and most importantly, we want to thank our customers for their patience this weekend while substitute bus service operated between Cranford and Newark.’
