The case for Dumbarton Rail
In early July, a poll of voters in the nine Bay Area Counties was released showing a solid majority would support up to a $3 increase in bridge tolls to pay for significant upgrades to our transportation system.

This project has suffered from "study-itis" for more than ten years. I am glad to note the initiative's revival. Allowing infrastructure to deteriorate is rarely a good thing. Hopefully, increasing auto congestion and rising property values will give policymakers the incentive they need to provide another rail access to the East Bay.

Proposed Dumbarton rail bridge could be first transbay railroad crossing since BART tube
